GM Sivuk Vitaly took the championship title in the 6th Johor International Chess Open 2019. As can be seen from the interactive correctable below, he finished a clear one point ahead of his nearest rival. The Ukranian GM takes home with him the cash prize of RM 8000.
Taking clear second place is IM Firman Shah Farid with 6.5 out of 9 points. He takes home the cash prize of RM 5000.
A total of 82 players took part in this year’s competition. The Open is part of the Johor Festival which also includes a Challenger section, Rapid and Blitz.
